Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Mat Dynasty (“we”, “us”) collects when you use the game at matdynasty.com (the “Game”), how we use it, and the choices you have. It is part of our Terms of Service. The short version: we collect what we need to run your account and the Game, we do not sell your information, and we do not show ads.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Account details. Your email address, and a password if you sign up with email. Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider and we never see them.
• Google sign-in. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your email address and whether it is verified, plus basic profile information. We use the email address to identify your account and do not store your Google profile photo.
• Your handle. The public name you choose, shown to other players.
• Content you post. Posts and comments in the Coaches Lounge, which other players can see.
• Coaching applications and game choices. The worlds you join, the programs you apply for and coach, and the decisions you make in the Game (lineups, recruiting, practice plans, settings and so on).
• Messages to us. Anything you send to support@matdynasty.com.

Information collected automatically

• Usage. When you open a screen, we record which area of the Game it was (for example “recruits” or “lounge”), the world you were in, your account identifier, and the time. We also record which coaches are using Automatic Mode. We use this to understand which parts of the Game get used.
• Technical logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard server and error logs, which may include your IP address, browser type and request times.

2. Cookies and similar storage

We use only cookies needed for the Game to work: sign-in cookies that keep you logged in, and a cookie that remembers which world you are currently viewing. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics or tracking.

3. How we use information

• to create and secure your account and sign you in;
• to run the Game, including simulating your matches and showing your program, handle and posts to other players;
• to review coaching applications and moderate the Coaches Lounge;
• to respond to you and send account emails, such as verification codes and password resets;
• to understand how the Game is used, fix bugs and improve it;
• to enforce our Terms and protect the Game and its players; and
• to comply with the law.

Where privacy laws require a legal basis, we rely on performing our agreement with you (running your account and the Game), our legitimate interests (improving and protecting the Game), and legal obligations.

4. What other players can see

Your handle, the program you coach, your results and rankings, your Coaches Lounge posts and comments, and certain in-game actions you take against other programs (such as tampering or throwing shade) are visible to other players. Your email address is never shown to other players.

5. How we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only:

• with service providers that run the Game for us, chiefly Amazon Web Services (hosting, database, sign-in and email) and Google (if you choose Google sign-in), under their own privacy and security commitments;
• for legal reasons, if required by law or to protect the rights, safety or property of players, the public, or us; and
• in a business transfer, if the Game is sold or merged, in which case this Policy will continue to apply to your information.

6. How long we keep it

• Account and game data are kept while your account exists. Game worlds may be archived rather than deleted so that past seasons stay viewable.
• Usage logs are deleted automatically after 90 days.
• When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep it to comply with the law, resolve disputes, or enforce our Terms. Game history (such as past results) may remain in anonymized form.

7. Your choices and rights

You can change your game settings in the Game and delete your own Lounge posts and comments. Handles are chosen once, so email us if yours needs changing. You can also email support@matdynasty.com to:

• get a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• correct it;
• delete your account and personal information; or
• object to or ask us to restrict how we use it.

Depending on where you live (for example, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California), you may have these rights by law, and you may also complain to your local data protection authority. We will not treat you differently for exercising them. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, usually by having you write from the email address on your account.

8. Security

Your data is stored with Amazon Web Services, and all connections to the Game are encrypted. Sign-in is handled by Amazon Cognito, so we never store your password. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of your information.

9. Where your data is stored

The Game is run from the United States, and your information is stored and processed there. If you use the Game from elsewhere, you understand your information will be transferred to the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those where you live.

10. Children

The Game is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, email support@matdynasty.com and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above, and for significant changes we will give notice in the Game before they take effect.
